John Lennon was born in Liverpool on 9th October, 1940.
John’s father Alfred wasn’t in Liverpool, nobody knew where he was. Alfred left his wife Julia and his child John in April 1942. John grew up by his uncle George and aunt Mimi. The last time he saw his father, he was only five years old. His mother Julia saw him only a few times. Julia died in July 1958, because a drunk policeman drove into her. John Lennon said: „ This was a sad time for me. I lost her twice. The first time when I was five years old, the second time when she died.“
Beatles:
John remembered: „In 1955, when rock’n’roll was popular in England, I was 15 years old. There was another big thing:“Skiffle“, American folk-music. All children played this music and I had my own skiffle band at school. Later I met Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison and we changed to rock’n’roll. The name of our band was „Beatles.“
This band „Beatles“ soon became well known. Their music was so popular, that it marked the 60s and 70s. Not only the English people liked this music, no, the whole of Europe and the United States too. One success followed the other and they became one of the most popular groups in history. Everybody knew songs like: „Let it be“, „Yellow submarine“, „Hey Jude“, „ Help“.
John experimented next to the Beatles with other music-styles. In August 1968 followed his divorce from Cynthia. With her he had a son called Sean. Slowly little disputes started in the Beatles group. Every member of the group followed another music-style and this picked up quarrels. So John started a new career with Yoko. In 1974 John got seperated from Yoko and moved to Los Angeles.
For the next two years John was drug addicted until he was shot and killed on the 8th of December by a fan in front of his flat in New York.
John Lennon was a very interesting person and this attempt remembered the people in this time to him.
