Ayrton Senna da Silva ( by Ralph Kindlimann )

Ayrton Senna was born on the 21st March, 1960 in Sao Paulo Brasil. Ayrton was a very likeable man and a real woman hero. All people liked him.
Ayrton drove in the Formula 1 a total of 65 races and started 61 times from the pole position and he won 41 races. Ayrton was three times world champion: in 1988, 1990, 1991.
Ayrton Senna da Silva - one of the greatest racing drivers of all time - lost his life at Imola on May 1st, 1994. However he was always a man of such extraordinary talent and character. Senna was the fastest and most talented driver of his generation. But what we remember, is that he was a very exceptional man.

Ayrton crashed on May 1st 1994 during the Grand Prix of Imola against a concrete wall at a speed of 300 km/h because the handle-bar broke. At the impact he broke his neck and died at the hospital two hours later.
The number one! How many world championships would he still win, if he lived ???

Ayrton helped 50‘000 children in Brasil to go to school and to work with the computer. Is it important to know, that Manuel Fanio and Jim Clark were two big heros of Senna. Manuel Fangio was with Michael Schumacher the best driver of the world (both were five times world champions) and Jim Clark was twice world champion.

Why Ayrton Senna?
Ayrton Senna was my favourite driver of all times. He was the most talented driver, that I knew. He was very fast but a quiet man and this fascinated me.
