The famous Lama, Sonam Gyatso was given the title "Dalai Lama" 1578 by the Prince of Mongolia. This name means "Ocean of Knowledge". The Dalai Lama is a rebirth from Tschenresi, the Buddha of Mercy and the protector of Tibet. Tschenresi is going to be reborn until mankind is rescued.
Before the Chinese came to Tibet and destroyed their religion, the Dalai Lama was the political and religious leader of Tibet.

The 14th Dalai Lama was born on 6th of July 1935 in Amdo, a province of Tibet. Lhamo Dhondrub`s parents, were poor farmers. When Lhamo was two years old, a delegation of Lamas found and recognized him as the rebirth of Tschenresi. Then he was given the new name: Tenzin Gyatso . When 4 and a half years old Tenzin was put on the throne. Afterwards he lead a monastic life for 10 years.

But then, in 1949, the Chinese came to Tibet and began with the conquest. At 15 years Tenzin was the Leader of Tibet. On 9th of September 1951 the Chineses army marched into Lhasa the capital of Tibet.
1954 the Dalai Lama wanted to speak with Mao Tsetung about peace. But it did not help. On the 10th of March 1959 the people of Tibet made a rebellion against the Chinese army. In this period 90`000 people from Tibet died and theDalai Lama had to leave Tibet. He fled over the Himalaya to India. Since that time the 10th of March is the national holiday for the Tibetians.

The Dalai Lama still lives in India to care for his people and mankind justice. In 1989 he was honoured with the Nobel Price for Peace.

MY ESTABLISHMENT

I chose the Dalai Lama for my biography because I admire him. In his life the Dalai Lama saw a lot of bad and horrible things but he never gave up the hope for a better time or life. And I also admire the relegion of the Tibetians, the Buddhismus. I think the Tibetian dogma is real with the rebirth and the Buddh.
I hope now you know more than before about the Dalai Lama.

I hope mankind never gives up hope for a better life for the Tibetians. I really hope that ! ! !
