Maurice was born on July 23, 1974 in Kansas City, the youngest of four children. 1993 he graduated from High School. He went to be a football player. In the 4th and 5th class, he participated in athetics contests.
After the football season, he went toan Athletic team. He went out of the football team, because he had a fight with the coach. In the school he broke many records. After the school, Nike sponsored Maurice. His trainer was Al Hobbson. 1994 the USA-team took him up. In Barcelona was his first important indoor Contest. He reached the 4th place. His hardest opponent was Carl Lewis. Maurice beat he with 9.88s in 100m. Then he travelled to Europe. 1995 he went to the US Outdoor World Championship team to Gothburg, for his first world Championship.
1996 he tore his hamstring for a third time. But he went to the Olympic trails and run 10.08s. But he wasn't good enough for the Olympic team. Then his father decided it was time to change the coach. 1997 he went to Los Angeles and worked with John Smith. In this year he run 9.96s in Indianapolis and he won his first Us National Championship. Then he went to Athens and run 9.86s and Athens changed his life. He won his first major World Champion title. Then in 1999 Athen again, it was the best year for Maurice. He broke the World record of Donovan Bailey in 100m in 9.79s !
On September 23rd 2000 in Sydney, he won the Gold Medal of 100m in 9.87s, and 4 x 100m men's realy race won the Gold Medal for him and USA too !

I wrote about Maurice Greene, because I make Athletics too. I admire Maurice because he can run 9.79s in 100m. I think I admire him, because he is a Blackman and I find it's good, that he is the world's fastest human!
